Flat Stanley-project in 2E

Over the past month we have been reading a great book in class 2E called Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown. In the book the boy, Stanley, gets a board on him while he is sleeping and becomes totally flat.

He turns out to be only 2 cms thick! Stanley finds out that there are actually quite a few great things with being flat, like going and visiting friends by mail inside an envelope.

So, we did the same thing in 2E! Not getting flat and putting ourselves into an envelope, no, no. J Instead everyone made a paper doll of Flat Stanley and wrote a letter to a friend, cousin or relative somewhere around Finland or the world. Then the our own Flat Stanleys and the letters were put into an envelope and off they went to the world! The students (and their teacher) were very excited to work out who they could write to, how to write a letter, addresses on an envelope and finally to buy a stamp from the local Post Office.

Now we are waiting for some answers! The answers from USA, Porvoo, Singapore, China, Australia, UK, France, Germany, Estonia, Isokyrö, Helsinki, Netherlands and many other places will be sent to us as selfies. The friends around the world will take the Flat Stanley on an adventure and take a selfie with him and then email it to us.

We are so waiting to see what it looks like around the world!
